FIG 1.

The Appenzeller Sideboard gives volume permission to disappear. The more it holds, the more it reveals itself.

FIG. 2

A small gesture disrupts the ordinary. Curiosity opens the door.

FIG 3.

Behind each door, solid brass pucks support three shelf positions. A discreet cord escape at the base keeps its profile neat.

Developed in collaboration with Appenzeller Gurt, the Appenzeller collection draws from traditions of alpine saddlery. Handcrafted brass fittings are distilled into functional details that balance ornament with restraint.

THE ESSENCE
OF ORNAMENT

Origin

For generations, handcrafted brass fittings have adorned the ceremonial belts of Appenzell across the Sitter River valley, shaping its visual language. Produced by local saddle makers, they embody a shared knowledge of material, craftsmanship, and cultural identity.

Evolution

Together with Appenzeller Gurt, the same brass fittings find a new role in everyday life. Their craftsmanship and cultural origins remain unchanged, while their purpose quietly evolves. In doing so, they continue a regional tradition beyond its original context.
